The present text has as object of investigation seven protestant catechisms that integrate the Presbyterian Historical Archives. In this sense, this work aimed to highlight the typographies responsible for the production and edition of the seven protestant catechisms analyzed here. Therefore, this work is inserted in the field of Cultural History, History of Education and History of Book. Supported by the theoretical-methodological assumptions of Carlo Ginzburg (2007) regarding the evidential method, the concept of culture by Norbert Elias (1994), and the understanding of the History of Book by Roger Chartier (1998). Therefore, it is possible to conclude that the dissemination of works and the creation of typographies by the North American missionaries contributed significantly to the development of the protestant and, consequently, Brazilian press.
