Abstract

This research aimed to know and evaluate the didactic aspects of two public schools in Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil, related to didactic aspects in science teaching and in the development of Environmental Education. Data were collected through a questionnaire composed of 03 discursive questions and 21 items structured on the Likert scale model, which dealt with didactic resources, teacher satisfaction, knowledge and their involvement with Environmental Education. Between 60.0 and 80.0% of teachers declare themselves to be physically and mentally barked. Teachers (64.3%) propose to perceive environmental education in a natural or selfish way, with a view of who the human being is, only care and preserve nature or the importance of human needs, respectively. Teachers reported little motivation and physical and mental exhaustion, generally applying one or two teaching resources. The insertion of less traditional teaching resources may favor teaching and learning, mainly related to Environmental Education. Knowledge about Environmental Education also needs to be understood in its broader context to avoid its limited and / or poorly reflective approach.
