The schoolyard is a space where activities, roles and dynamics reproduce gender stereotypes and mandates that exist in society. The research that supports this article proposes to promote the role of boys and girls as agents of change and promotion of co-educational playgrounds as spaces that promote egalitarian relationships. A case study is carried out in two rural primary education centers, using the mapping of the playground and the letters as participation strategies, based on the question: What could our school playground be like for girls and boys? Do they have the same space to play? The results highlight the desire to create new shared spaces of an egalitarian nature not marked by segregation.
