This article presents a lesson plan of the Portuguese Language curricular component, from the 6th to the 9th grade of Elementary School II, on Democracy, Fake News and the Brazilian Electoral Process. The methodological approach is qualitative, in which a literature review was used, on democracy and education, contributions of the theme in the Common National Curriculum Base (BNCC), which highlights the need to develop skills in students to analyze the phenomenon of dissemination of false news in social networks, and knowledge of textual genres in the public sphere and laws in a democratic state, as well as an action reflection on the pedagogical practice from a lesson plan. As a result, a proposal for hybrid teaching, about language practices, reading, production of meaning effects of texts that circulate in the field of action in public life, the understanding of the Brazilian electoral process and how fake news affect democracy.
