Abstract

The SARS-CoV2 virus is highly transmissible and dental surgeons are a risk group. Health authorities have proposed the use of mouthwash before procedures in order to prevent contamination. However, these are not able to reduce the salivary viral load. Thus, the aim of this study was to evaluate, in silico, the potential of compounds from Schinopsis brasiliensis plant species against SARS-CoV-2. The results showed that the compounds Schinopsona B, alpha-amyrin and chlorogenic acid showed binding affinity with viral proteins, besides low toxicity, being promising for further research and development of antiseptic oral solution against COVID-19.
