Abstract

The Rede Universitária de Telemedicina (RUTE) promotes the implementation of Núcleo de Telemedicina e Telessaúde (NTT) in university hospitals and federal universities throughout Brazil. The admission of the Professor Alberto Antunes University Hospital (HUPAA) to the Federal University of Alagoas (UFAL) at RUTE, occurred in 2007 based on the need for professors and students in the areas of health and information technology. This work aims to investigate the functioning of the NTT at HUPAA since its implementation to the present day. This is a descriptive research with a qualitative approach, developed in three stages, through a documental investigation, interviews with NTT and Grupo de Interesse Especial (SIG) coordinators and through dialogue with published literature on the subject, highlighting the importance of recording and disseminating information on actions related to telemedicine and telehealth.
