O RACISMO ESTRUTURAL E AS RELAÇÕES DE VIOLÊNCIA E LETALIDADE POLICIAL NO BRASIL
Abstract
The present work the occurrence of structural racism in Brazil, its constitution from cases of police violence, which occurs as a result of the existing relationship between racism, violence and police lethality. With this, this research aims to analyze the legal and social possibilities of confronting racism, through current legislation and international legislation through treaties and conventions, which promote respect for races and promotion of Human Rights. In view of the data presented by the State on police violence and lethality, the following research problem arises: is police violence motivated by racism? In order to arrive at the answer to this research problem, the methodology of bibliographic research was used, an important search and research mechanism to study previously analyzed themes that were previously reflection materials of scholars and jurists, in addition, the research was used of literature and legislation. In the end, the importance of combating racism in Brazil is highlighted, as a way of confronting police violence.
