Considering the changes in the recognition of contemporary families, this study explores the vulnerability of female-headed single-parent families affected by social markers. The difficulties faced by single mothers are highlighted, taking into account race, class, gender, and marital status, supported by Crenshaw's intersectional theory (1989). This approach is essential to understand how multiple systems of oppression interconnect and increase the vulnerability of these families, consisting only of a woman and her children. Based on Finemann's studies of vulnerability (2010), the work emphasizes the obligation of institutions to adopt measures to mitigate these disparities, promoting resilience in the face of social challenges.
