MAKER CULTURE: THE PERCEPTION OF STUDENTS OF THE PEDAGOGY COURSE/UNIT ABOUT THE ABAYOMI DOLL
Abstract
The present article has as object of study the Abayomi doll. Amulet of affection, memory and protection, made by women and children, victims of the process of slave labor undertaken by the Empire Portuguese. Produced from us and braids, in small strips of black and colored fabric, without expressions of physiognomy, thus covering all ethnicities coming from Africa to Brazil. In this context, the main and specific objectives of the study were: to analyze the perception of the students of the Pedagogy course at Tiradentes University, from the production of the abayomi doll; demonstrate the relevance of meaningful learning by using the chosen active methodology (Culture Maker) and identify the basic concepts of the discipline Afro-Brazilian and Indigenous Culture. It was from the Culture Maker methodology and bibliographic research, that the context of meaningful learning of the students' statements was analyzed after the preparation of the final product of the activity.
