The article aims to reflect critically and reflectively about the object ('social issues'), its privileged instrument (social policy) and the Social Service profession, relating its historical foundations, theoretical and methodological and its interventional procedures. The link of the profession with social policies and its founding object becomes tenuous, even in the process of proletarianization active submitted from the proto-forms and the growing demand of sectoral policies and their employing institutions by social workers from the 1990s. Although this study has used various authors as references, and foundations has Gramscian categories.
