Abstract

This construct  aims to present discussions and debates about of the prison system in Sergipe and its repercussions within the prisoner family, emphasizing the Lawyer Social Reintegration Center Dr. Emanuel Cacho I e II, popularly known as Areia Branca State Penitentiary - PEAB. Results of empirical and bibliographic research realized by the author after their insertion at the Care Center, Studies and Research in the Social Service, the CAEPSS inserted in the Itabaiana campus of the University Tiradentes. Through direct contact with the inmates of the PEAB, realized that the conditions offered by the prison system are the worst possible, and that it entails no effectiveness of policy resocialization recommended by the Law of Penal Executions. Moreover, due to a whole context of deprivation, the presence of family members becomes essential, given that social service cannot do a job more effectively with users of the prison system.
