This article aimed to assess the quality of public spaces for leisure and tourism in the city of Belém (PA). Through bibliographic and field research, this study was conducted based on the application of the Instrument for the Evaluation of Public Space Quality, inspired by the guidelines of the Project for Public Spaces organization. The instrument consisted of forty questions, organized into four fundamental qualities: 1) access and connections, 2) comfort and image, 3) uses and activities, and 4) sociability. Two public spaces were chosen: 1) Belém Porto Futuro Park and 2) Icoaraci Waterfront. The results allowed us to understand that the centrally located Park received an "Excellent" rating for space quality. On the other hand, the peripheral Icoaraci Waterfront received a "Good" level of quality. It was found that the centrally located space in the city was better evaluated than the more distant one.
