Abstract

The purpose of this article was to investigate the risk factors that can lead young Brazilians to commit the offense. The topic discussed is relevant due to the need to identify the factors that can lead the young Brazilian to perform the offense. The methodology used was a review of narrative literature, carried out from scientific articles available in the ScIELO database, books, as well as the Code of Minors (1927), the Brazilian Constitution (1988) and the Statute of Children and Adolescent - ECA (1990). As a result of observing that the risk factors pointed out are the presence of conduct disorder, demands associated with the family, the use of psychoactive substances, as well as violence, whether physical or in the intrafamily context. It can be seen that most of the time, they are presented together, and may be biological or socio-environmental. Therefore, the inefficiency of the public policies adopted for the primary prevention of the risk factors presented was evidenced.
