Abstract

The intersexuality is seen by medicine as an organic imbalance as to the characteristics that determine the sexual identity of some individuals, so that the individual encompasses characteristics of both the female and the male. This article was created through a narrative literature review, aiming to problematize the way in which biomedical, legal and psychosocial assistance currently occurs for the intersexual population in Brazil. The crossings that an intersex individual goes through throughout his life can be analyzed within the social, biomedical, psychological and legal contexts and must be deepened in such a way as to make possible the deconstruction of paradigms established within these areas and that end up strengthening and / or persisting in perverse practices against human dignity.
