Abstract
ABSTRACT Objective: To describe the role of nurses in identifying intrafamily sexual abuse in children and adolescents. Methods: This is an integrative review, which enables a structured search on the established theme in order to analyze and synthesize research to contribute to the information and assist in filling the scientific knowledge gaps with the development of new studies. Results: In relation to cases of sexual abuse, The selected articles reinforce that the presence of nurses in assisting these victims is important in the investigation, guidance and treatment of these diseases in specific health centers. Conclusion: During the care of children and adolescents, the nurse must be aware of possible signs of aggression to these young people who may no longer be visible. He must act with more caution so as not to further weaken the victim. And for that, he must act with empathy and a humanized look, if he finds the suspicion of sexual violence he should talk calmly with the victim in order to extract information about the aggressor. If it is identified that this aggressor is accompanying the victim, he must protect him and communicate to the competent authorities, parents, guardianship council, among others, so that protective measures are taken.
