ATUAÇÃO DA ENFERMAGEM NA PREVENÇÃO E CONTROLE DA COVID-19 EM RECÉM-NASCIDOS: UMA REVISÃO INTEGRATIVA
Abstract
Objective: To identify the prevention and control behaviors exercised by nursing professionals who work with newborns in the context of COVID-19. Methodology: This was an integrative review with five articles selected for analysis, obtained from the Cochrane Library, Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences (LILACS), Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online (MEDLINE) databases ) and Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO). Results and Discussions: Prevention and control measures performed by nursing professionals working in neonatology in the context of COVID-19 were identified. Among the measures, hand washing, adoption of personal protective equipment (PPE) and distance stand out. Conclusion: The importance of the role of nurses in this context is highlighted, establishing adherence to good prevention and health promotion practices combined with the use of standard precautions, in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the care of newborns.
