Abstract

Civil construction had a notable growth in its activities and, as a consequence, caused an increase in the generation of solid waste. Among the packaging elements, there is found a large amount of waste materials, which are discarded in the form of packaging, which are discarded significantly to the environment. Therefore, this work aims to develop a sustainable masonry block, using cement bag as raw material from construction waste, in order to reduce its cost. They were resined, mineral talc and Kraft paper fiber, talc and dried, added to the mixture used and finally, crushed into a mold with release agent. After completion of the preparation, the absorption water was tested. The sustainable features setting time of 2 hours is fixed and when performing the 6-block test, fulfilling up to 8.8 MPa blocks. In this way, the production of blocks can be avoided, from the addition of recycled Kraft paper fibers, proving to be viable and presenting future models, such as thermoacoustic and structural insulation tests.
