Resignifying playing and use rational drug experience in a group of elderly

Abstract

In health care for the elderly, we find a strong relationship between the correct use of drugs by users and the activities carried out by the pharmacist in the practice of pharmaceutical care. This study had the purpose of using playful exercises and non-common activities, related to a healthier lifestyle and to the rational use of drugs, towards a group of elderly women from Integral Attention to Best Age Program.The actions were prepared from theorical assumptions by Paulo Freire and the methodological steps by Manguerez’s Arc. The main addressed themes were self-medication, drug’s storage, administration and discart, and health (activities related to welfare). The activities were puzzle, boardgame, image cards and a theater play, addressing the principal’s pathologies, used drugs and pharmacotherapeutic problems. The results were evaluated by impressions, given the importance of impressions and the most tangible behavior of participants, major compatibility with the learning and motivational aspects. It is believed thatthe activities contributed to elderly women’s learning, understanding and reflection, enhancing the humanistic relationship between the stage students and the treated patients on program, and obtaining best clinical results.
