Gynecological Health Education: Awareness about Discharges and Preventive Exams

Abstract

The extension project aimed to promote awareness of women's intimate health, highlighting the importance of gynecological exams and the differentiation between physiological and pathological vaginal secretions. The intervention took place at the Instituto Beneficente Emmanuel (IBEM) and included interactive lectures, audiovisual materials, and a space for addressing questions in a welcoming and accessible manner. Through an educational and participatory approach, the project provided significant learning opportunities and encouraged the exchange of experiences, strengthening women's connection with preventive care. The results demonstrated the initiative's effectiveness in expanding knowledge and encouraging health practices, emphasizing the importance of informative interventions to reduce barriers to accessing regular gynecological care.
