A INFLUÊNCIA DA TELOMERASE SOBRE O TELÔMERO NO DESENVOLVIMENTO DE LEUCEMIA

Resumo

A leucemia é uma doença caracterizada pelo comprometimento das células hematopoiéticas que irão apresentar um telômero reduzido em detrimento da função ativada da enzima telomerase. Este estudo tem o intuito de descrever a influência da telomerase no processo de encurtamento do telômero e de senescência celular, e como estes contribuem para o surgimento do câncer, com enfoque na leucemia. Trata-se de uma Revisão Integrativa da Literatura. O estudo permitiu comprovar a relação existente entre o telômero e telomerase e o desenvolvimento da leucemia. Comprovou-se que células com telômeros que não sofrem encurtamento tendem a apresentar maiores probabilidades de anomalias genéticas e diferenciação para células cancerígenas.
